Do you think this skewers device for charcoal grill will be good for making grounded meat kebabs?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.

That device will keep the skewers too far up from the coals. Plus you wont be able to use the lid. So i bet you would have a hard time cooking them and they wont get any of the charred/grilled taste.

Just lay the skewers directly on the grate.
It's the same distance from the coals as the grill grid would be. It mimics what soldiers in the field did, but I agree you would get better flavor by laying them directly on the grate.

Bobby Flay says to oil the food, not the grate, so that's what we do.

You don't need skewers at all to make these; that's from necessity in the past when soldiers in the field made them the way Badjak's image shows, using their swords over a campfire with no grate.

It's just seasoned ground meat. You can make patties, meatballs, or oblong shapes with the meat and bake, broil or grill them like hamburgers. The skewers are just for fun or presentation these days.
