WAFFLE HOUSE ADDING EGG SURCHARGE!!!

Okay, it's not that bad. They will be adding a 50-cent per egg surcharge temporarily, due the rising cost of eggs.

Will Denny's and IHOP be next?

That makes $6 per dozen reducing the cost of eggs. That's like free eggs and then some for Waffle House.

Depends on where. The egg farms here in Texas seem to be okay, so far.

Here are prices at my local Kroger. First, the ones I buy, and second, the cheapest Grade A Large eggs..

Can you blame them? People will be going out to eat if they can't buy eggs at the grocers! Think of the quantity of eggs those places must go thru.
and they are going to pay inflated prices because they will be buying them where ever they can get them. It is what their main dishes are!

I'm glad I can go totally eggless...except when baking Christmas cookies!

Considering how many eggs I buy, the price could quadruple and it wouldn't hurt me as far as buying eggs. Now, the cost of things that include eggs would be something I might notice. But there again, if my grocery store bill doubled, which it may (can I say that), I'd survive just fine. I'd just be a bit less happy about grocery shopping.

Welcome to 2025 (can I say that).

Seriously... Prepare. Adapt. There are far worse things than expensive eggs.

They pretty much have. The 18 packs of eggs for which I used to pay $3.49 are now $12.49, and the price seems to increase every friggin' day. Now I wish I hadn't sold one of the 18 packs I bought from Whole Foods for $5.49 to my neighbor!

There are worse things than expensive eggs? Name three!

Sun of the Beach! I just checked and Amazon Whole Foods appears to have those 18 packs of eggs for $5.49 in stock, but you need to spend $35 to get free delivery. I already have 2 18 packs, I don't need 35 bucks worth of other groceries, and I have run out of room in my fridge and my pantry to store anything.

I wonder what's going to happen to chicken prices. Anybody read anything on whether or not meat chickens are affected?

On the farm it's standard practice to NOT eat a bird that has died on it's own. Matter of fact we were supposed to send them in for inspection if it was an unknown reason.
Raccoon kill (or other) was also not eaten. Only birds we ate were ones we raised and butchered ourselves.
