Emojis

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
There are times when I know I have a saved emoji in my picture files that is perfect for a comment so yeah, I'll go search it out. But I'm usually in too much of a hurry - LOL and lazy!
You and me both ;)

Oh well. Maybe it's time for me to admit that I have a problem.

"Hello, my name is Linda and I'm an Emojiholic."

the one I loved from way back.

Was maybe taxlady?

We are the Canadian Borg. Please stand in Que to be Asymilated!

Ha Ha, Eric, Austin Tx.
Yup, that was my user picture for quite a while. I'll see if I can find it again.

I found it, but I don't know how to upload it as an animated gif. So, I'll post the picture and all the various captions.

I would like to request that we have a YUM! Emoji added to the “like” bar.
There are plenty of times where I wish that member’s food would jump out of the screen and present itself on my table.
I generally use the “love” emoji, but perhaps something like the chefs kiss or whatever could be added to that little bar?

I'm still waiting for a facepalm emoji.

CD
That would be a good one. And it would be nice to see a different array of them added to the current lineup.

Maybe I'm crazy and not remembering correctly, but before this site was overhauled (for the better, might I add), there were quite a good number of emojis/smilies/whateveryouwannacallem's available. Pretty much every expression you could think of. Now I often find myself looking for a specific expression, but it's not available in the current selection. Like a "shrug" emoji, for one. That would be a good one. Many of the emojis, mostly in the "generic" section, nobody ever uses because they don't really make a whole lot of sense for the theme of the site.

I usually go to the Window's key and the Full Stop (period) key. It seems to have a pretty good choice, but even there I don't remember seeing a 🤦 itself but there is a "facepalming man" 🤦‍♂️
I just find them so tiny it is hard to tell what they are doing.

Holy jeez, I didn't even know you could do that.

Test emoji - 🤦‍♀️

You're right, though, can't tell what it's doing. Apparently it's a facepalm, but it's not clear once it's posted.

Sometimes if you just put semi-colons on either side of an expressive word, you will get the picture. Not always but a lot of times. I often find it easier than searching. For ex.
I'll put spaces here but : blush : without the spaces becomes
Biggest drawback to that is you don't see it until you 'Post reply'.

And I must give credit to taxlady for introducing me to the Windows symbol + Full stop.

I don't think I told you about the Windows symbol + full stop. Maybe my memory is just bad. But, I don't even recognize it when I do it. I may have told you about the trick with the colons and a word.

Opposite! LOL, I discovered the colons by seeing the labels under the emoji's when you pass the curser over them.
But it was only just recently about the Windows tab - pretty sure it was you. If it wasn't then apologies to who ever posted it!

What's a Window's key?

CD :D

The Windows key probably does some of the same stuff as the Option and Command keys do. I had heard of the Command key, but I hadn't heard about the Option key before.

As you can see on taxy's picture, my/our keys read from the left:
ctrl (control),
fn (function),
4 little squares in a square configuration (Windows key),
alt (alternate)
- then the Space Bar.
and don't ask me what each does because I don't have a clue. I use them when instructed to.
I do know the Windows key will also bring up our 'desk top' screen.
I have my task bar across the bottom of my screen. It also has a Windows icon, and I can "pin" other icons there as a shortcut various programs I may want to use. Icons of programs open show there as well.
