Don’t have a lot of food in the house at the moment so took a packet of bacon, some cooked leftover chicken, a single gherkin (to cut through any potential claggy mayo) and put it on a jacket potato.

When did it happen that a whole jacket potato just felt like too much food?!! 😂

No evening meal for us tonight.

We were finally able to get "out" because of the previous week's snow and ice, so we took the opportunity to run some errands, gas up the truck and make a run through the carwash, which was TOTALLY necessary.

Then, some strange thing happened. That big hook from Cracker Barrel grabbed us on our way home. Well, of course, we had to obey. We left feeling stuffed as the Thanksgiving Day turkey, so we will either "graze" or have microwave popcorn while we watch a movie later tonight.

Oh, my! We both had the fried catfish which, as usual, was perfect!

Started off with some Ø, then after a while I had some Ø along with a bit of Ø. This was followed by several ØØ. Thought I'd finish up with ØØ but instead munched on a cold beet straight out of the fridge. Was perfect.

Just remembered I grabbed a trio of h/b quail eggs along with the beet.

I am trying to eat out of the freezer, but I didn't really feel like it today. And, I had some bacon lardons that were going to go off any minute now. So, I used the lardons in a recipe for Pasta with Gorgonzola sauce and pears. It was supposed to be pancetta, but the pancetta is in an unopened package and not in danger of going off very soon. There are supposed to be walnuts in this recipe, but I didn't think the flavour of the walnuts went well with this when I tried them the first time, so I used pumpkin seeds. I have tried using pecans, but their flavour gets overwhelmed, so you don't really taste them. I added some young rainbow chard near the end. The pasta was whole wheat fusilli. I really enjoyed that.

Since steak is not on my shopping list until it is reasonably priced,

CD

Ribeyes were on "sale" for $13 a pound. Still pricey, but we only needed 1 decent sized steak for the 2 of us since it was a salad meal. Craig had mentioned wanting the above salad a week or 2 ago, so since there was a "sale" decided to get some.
