That looks really good to me. Give me a warm slice with a smear of butter and I'm a happy clam.

I've made bread a couple of times in my bread machine. It wasn't too bad. I'm just not much of a baker, even if I have an appliance that does everything for me.

Thanks.

It was dense. I am still trying to get my sourdough legs under me. It doesn't help that I don't have time to play with it as much as I would like.

You'd have been in heaven.

It was very good with runny egg yolks.
I miss eggs with runny yolks. Can't eat them anymore. Developed an allergy to any part of the egg that's even slightly undercooked.

I miss my favorite snack. I used to fry an egg, leaving the yolk runny, and put it in between 2 toasted Eggo (or whatever brand I had) waffles and ate it like a sandwich. Had to eat it over a plate, of course, because it was very messy. But it was sooooooo delicious.

😭

per Frank: This could have baked a little longer, but it sounded good when I thumped it.

Use your instant read thermometer Frank. Most breads are good at 190 but for sourdough I'd go to 200 maybe even 210, In your picture see the little crack on the edge? Stick the probe in there, no one will notice, or if they do simply tell them it's worms.

I'm a thumper as well.

Worms! Too funny.
