Does anyone have a really good recipe for this? I was told these two things are the same. They are wonderful crumbly buttery cookies made with chopped almonds. Thank you!

Here you go. AKA Mexican Wedding Cookies or Greek Kouradiedes. When rolling dough into the balls, use a light touch, just baring rolling enough to shape, and do not handle very long. This will achieve the best result for a crumbly light cookie and not something rock-like.

Russian Tea Cakes
1 c Butter, soft
1/2 c Confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 ts Vanilla
2 1/4 c AP flour, sifted
1/4 ts Salt
3/4 c Almonds, finely chopped
Confectioner's sugar for covering cookies

Preheat oven to 400F
1.Mix the butter, confectioner's sugar, and vanilla, thoroughly together.
2.Stir in the sifted flour, and salt. Then mix in nuts.
3.Chill dough. Roll into 1 inch balls. place on ungreased baking sheet; cookies do not spread.
4.Bake until just set, but not brown, about 10-12 mins. While still warm, roll in confectioner's sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.

There are also Greek cookies called "Kourambiethes." Most recipes involve beating the butter for about 1 hr. Some recipes have ground almonds and some don't. The traditional flavoring is mastiha.
