A photo of a dip I made for a Halloween movie party several years back. It's a bean dip with guacamole and add-ons such a lettuce, olives, and corn chip tombstones with edible ink to decorate.

I think everyone's already seen it though.

Finally! A new personal challenge for me -
Pumpkin Roll
I finally did it. I'd sort of like to dedicate this to Got Garlic as she piqued my interest in these cakes and posted many pictures showing her journey. Between her tips and medtran's I actually got to this year. A little squishy and will take a lot more practice but here it is!

LOL, thankfully my DIL sliced it because as I said, a bit squishy. But vvvvery yummy. I was worried the pumpkin flavour would not come thru but it was great. And of course, who doesn't like Cream Cheese frosting!
(From the Libby's site for the recipe.)

Someone here must have carved a pumpkin for tomorrow night!
Here are my DIL's. Oh boy, she has some skills with a knife! Think she may have had a little help with the art department.

there is no way I could have even contemplated those thin curves. Back in the day I had more toothless jacks ...

I love this time of year. Although it's been in the blasted 80's. Way too warm to be feeling like Fall. But it's supposed to finally start cooling down some. 60's and 70's for the next week or so.

But watch, by Halloween it'll be cold and wet. Never fails.

I don't have any Halloween treats to share. Maybe I'll pick some up at the store, when I finally have the funds to go. I know it would be cheaper to make my own cookies, etc, at home. But I'd rather sit in the rain for an hour without an umbrella than bake anything. That's how much I hate it.

The pumpkin roll from Libby is one of the two pumpkin related foods I will eat. This is a great recipe, I love it.

P.S.: I omit the clove as I HATE clove.

Yeah, I'd like to make another one. LOL - haven't done one since.

Need suggestions:
Need to find a different filling - my son is not partial to creme cheese icing. Maybe a custard? would it be strong enough? (to roll) I shouldn't thiink a whipped cream type would be strong enough?

I did pick up some Bird's Custard yesterday!

Thanks @dragnlaw , I've looked up some recipes for pumpkin rolls, the pumpkin pie looks good too, I'll take note of that one, it's gonna be a difficult choice. :)

OOps, I've just realised the link is actually the pumpkin roll, thank you.:)
I don't know how I got confused with the pumpkin pie.:D
