I LOVE my Hawaiian-Style Macaroni Salad,
I think I've mentioned it here at DC several times
I make it a lot more often now then I ever did,
why, I'm not sure...:chef:

I found this article and I thought that the author
put our feelings about our style of Mac Salad so accurately ...

I very rarely mack mac salad, but when I do, I use cajun seasonings, bacon, and diced red onions (and other stuff, or course). It is different than Hawaiian and most American mac salads (wait, isn't Hawaii a state?).

CD

I like Hawaiian mac and cheese too, but I actually prefer the Japanese adaptation, which adds rice wine vinegar to cooked soft pasta, and my fave Kewpie mayo. Some recipes add milk as well. It’s tangy, and the Ajinomoto in the Kewpie mayo gives it an extra kick of umami.

Just an aside question for you K-girl. Someone from Hawaii claimed on Twitter that the word “Hawaiian” is reserved for people native to Hawaii by heritage. All others are known as “Hawaii residents.” True?

Joel, true.
Unless you have some Hawaiian ancestry, you're not Hawaiian.
