Could someone please attempt to explain to me why a 5lb bag of White Lilly all porpoise flour would cost $6.32 at Wally World, but $17.61 at Amazon? :furious: And of course, the Walmart web site is having conniption fits right now and I can't order anything.

Hmm....maybe shoppers of Wally World flock to get their White Lily for biscuits rather than the users of Amazon? Just speculating.

I can't even imagine paying over $6 for any white flour! As for the ridiculous Amazon price, I have seen some weighted items with much higher prices than local stores, but occasionally their prices will be lower, when I wouldn't expect it - why, I couldn't tell you.

shipping stuff/costs are not free. I have seen some Amazon suppliers with much higher prices than others, on the same item - not unusual.

I suspect it depends on whether the item is stocked&fulfilled from an Amazon warehouse/facility or if the seller is shipping solo from their own facility.

Brick & Mortar grocery stores in Sandy Eggo don't sell White Lily so I have to order it. It is going to take a week to get it, so I guess I won't be doing any baking that requires all porpoise flour until then. I guess I could buy some King Arthur all-porpoise. You can get that anywhere. That's what I used before I discovered White Lily, and I still have some white whole wheat, pastry, and bread flours that are clean. My current flour has little black thingies in it, and when they think you aren't looking, they move! I will be feeding that to Arnold.

FYI, Arnold is the name I gave my garbage disposal. The name derives from Arnold Ziffel, the pig from Green Acres, and the pigasuarus that Fred Flintstone has under his kitchen sink.
