The recipe in the CIA’s textbook, The New American Chef, calls for turkey.

I eat Cobb salads all the time — one of my all time favorites.

I can’t remember when I ate one that had chicken and not turkey.

I don't know if I have ever had a Cobb with turkey.

Science and food etc. yes accurate to a great extent. Politics I don't trust it at all. Lately many of those citations actually have no valid links. Those who add those dead links know that nobody clicks on those links, but I do, and some of those links are to other baseless Wikipedia articles themselves, or website addresses that don't exist.

Some of the dead links are to websites or web pages that were valid at the time they were posted, but are no longer valid. I am not saying that is always what happened, but it is probably true in the majority of cases.

I look at Wikipedia the way I looked at CliffsNotes... if anyone remembers those. They were a very basic summary of novels. Both will give you a basic outline of things, but shouldn't be counted on if you have to take a test. ;)

When I do a quickie research, lately most of the answers have been AI. And AI probably used Wiki as well! LOL.

BTW - to the best of my knowledge- I've never even had a Cobb Salad.

"""The original Brown Derby Cobb salad recipe, as printed in the 1949 “Brown Derby Cookbook,” is as follows: """

which calls out chicken.

in the preceding paragraph, they mention Disney built a replica . . .
"The result is a replica of the original Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant at the Hollywood Studios theme park in Florida. The restaurant’s menu features “Our Famous Cobb Salad,” with spit-roasted turkey as the most noticeable deviation from the original recipe, ..."

Here's a photo of a piece of Maldive fish. You can see how dry and hard it is, from the marks of the fossilized bones.

But that's the shape you should never use in cooking. Unfortunately it's crushed like that and packed by whole salers who sell in small packets. Instead you should buy the whole fish and shave off what you want, and store the fish in a dry place.
Is there a certain store you get Maldives fishes from? Or are they seasonal?

I really wanna cook with them now. 🤓

I love all kinds of fresh salads. But my favourite, the one I can eat as a full meal if needed, is the very simple - pennywort(Centella asiatica), finely shredded carrots, shallots, lime, and salt...that's all. I add some very thinly/finely peeled "Maldive fish" if available. No sauces, oils, dressings, nothing. :D Perhaps too primitive to you but I love it.
Well, I unfortunately can't find the Maldives fishes anywhere, but I bought pennywort seeds and I have a hydroponics garden in my closet so hopefully it'll grow yumm-ily!
