Home bar... (big pics inside)

So I added new thatching to the roof and bar stools (as well as a new surfboard, which will eventually hang on the ceiling) to the tiki bar in my basement. Tonight I shot a few pictures while we were enjoying a little jazz and some Erdinger Hefeweizen, Eau Benite and Stone Smoked Porter. I thought I'd share. That's me on the left and mizzphinz on the right. That's Havana, our Golden Retriever, on the floor at my feet.

Got the ceiling painted yesterday. Will hang the crab trap/glass rack tomorrow night, and then will hang the surfboard before the weekend. Also installed rope lights under the edge of the bar. Next up will be adding a 4-outlet plug when we redo the shelves, since we'll be able to pull the paneling down to run the Romex. At that time we'll also install switched lights inside the bar so we can see what we're reaching for under the counter.

We're going to install two shelves, with uplights embedded in them. At least one shelf will have enough height to accomodate a Galliano bottle, since they're so oddly shaped.

More pictures. Got the ceiling painted, crab pot hung with lights installed inside and glass racks attached to the bottom, hung the surfboard from the ceiling and moved some stuff around.

Here's mine. Not as phun as yours, but it works. I used those undercabinet strip lights for the shelf. The back has a sink, fridge and a couple shelves for glasses.

wicked cool!!!! I just got bids to redo my kitchen in December.... hmmm, maybe I will just make it an eat-in "bar".
