Of all things to end up with in your yard, a septic tank! It's new, so unused fortunately. DD and DGDs are in a relatively new neighborhood, where construction is ongoing, and nothing apparently was secured by the construction company as their stuff is everywhere. Just some minor cosmetic damage to house, no water damage, though they did lose power so some food had to be tossed.

Getting the septic tank out of the yard is going to cause yard damage because ground is so wet. Told them they need to make the construction company pay up before they let them in the yard to remove the septic tank since they obviously have no care for other people's property.

No toilet to go with?

Glad they seemed to have had minimal damage. That's a relief for them I'm sure.
Good advice on the yard. What is the material of the tank? It's not a concrete is it? that would be sort of mind boggling.

No, not concrete, not sure exactly what it is though, some kind of plastic. They aren't cheap either, a couple thousand or more.

Your DD and DGDs could claim "finder keepers, losers weepers" and threaten to auction it off if the construction company doesn't pay up ahead of time, as you suggested.
