Are we related? My paternal grandmother was Canadian. Are there any Clarksons in your family tree?

Muffets are okay, but I dislike weetabix. They were too tightly wound and overtoasted. You really needed to let them soak for a while before you could eat them.

Are we talking about the same Weetabix? They are made of flakes. I always feel like once the milk is on them, you are in a hurry to eat them before they turn to mush.

Those are the Weetabix I'm thinking of too @taxlady. You are correct in somehow I visualized Shreddies and not Mini Wheats to crush. My bad. Plus I didn't even catch the mistake when I posted the pictures! LOL - double bad!

No @Sir_Loin_of_Beef , my mother and her family came from Detroit.

@Linda0818 But did you stab the cold Chef-Boy-R-De Ravioli on a fork, lick the sauce off before then separating off the top pasta layer. Then nibbling the filling. And then enjoying the bottom pasta layer for each and every ravioli? If so, we may be related.

Yes! LOL

I like it warmed, though. But yep, I did the same exact thing. The top layer had to be peeled away, then I ate the inside filling, then the bottom layer. I don't eat that stuff much anymore, but when I do have the ravioli, to this day I eat it the same way I did as a kid.

Too funny :ROFLMAO:

I actually did that on the few occasions I had ravioli. Not the whole serving mind you, just a couple - then my hungry maw would just gobble the rest up.

It depended on my mood or how much time I had to eat as to whether or not I would consume every single ravioli by taking them apart. But regardless, I always started out that way. I recall many times eating the entire bowl in that fashion.

Adding another silly thing I did - I would go out to the back yard and lay down a large towel, pretending it was a boat and I was in the middle of the ocean. And I always asked my mom for a bowl of potato chips. The potato chips were 'fish' that I would catch from the ocean.

Now, here's the gross thing I did that I'm hesitant to admit (lol) but I loved jello as a kid. I would take a mouthful of the jello, then swish the heck out of it in my mouth. Then once it was liquid, I would spit it back out into the spoon. Then I would re-eat the pulverized jello, pretending it was cough syrup.

:yuk:

I don't know what I was thinking.

Pretty sure I never spat it back out!
I know! Isn't that disgusting? Good grief.

Did anyone else eat just the insides of stuffed peppers and left the pepper? I would not eat the pepper as a kid. But stuffed peppers are now a favorite meal of mine. I need to make them again soon. I absolutely love them and make them the way my mom did.

I did the same thing with cabbage rolls.

Good catch. I missed that. Not sure if they would work as a coating. I normally use bread crumbs (panko or regular) or crushed corn flakes for that kind of stuff.

I think shredded wheat would have to pulverized to the point of bing almost a powder. Otherwise, as Taxi mentioned, you have a lot of tiny sticks.

Off-topic, but FYI...

A savory way to use them up is to give them the "Chex mix" treatment. Worch. sauce, onion pow., melted butter, etc and bake. Use the same Chex method but use Soy sauce, Ginger, Garlic for an Asian snack. Add a spicy kick or not...

Use them in Meatloaf/Frikadelle/ or any meat/fish patty/ball.

Spin in a food processor and use in Granola/Cookies or as others have said as a breading. How about french toast that you plop into ground shredded wheat before frying?

Have fun!

I don't mind off topicness. I mean, I'm the one talking about disgusting food habits now, lol. Besides, conversation evolves. ;)

In my threads, y'all can talk about whatever you want.

And that pepper looks delicious.

Ooooo, nice ideas. Thanks :)

The Muffets seem to be an actual shredded wheat. Until today, I don't think I had ever heard of them. Weetabix are not shredded wheat. They don't look the same when you at them close enough to see them correctly. It's really obvious that the Weetabix are made of flakes and that the shredded wheat is not made of flakes. Just because they are both whole grain breakfast cereal doesn't make them the same. If it does, we can start including Wheaties.

We used to sometimes have Muffets and as I've said, never really cared for them. Not sure why, they were basically the same or perhaps they had a tighter weave to them. Maybe even a slight malt flavour? Not my favourite. I could be completely wrong, just vague memory. LOL and it could possibly all boil down to - they looked different! LOL So yep, very discriminatory, guilty!
