Have more mussels to cook for supper but can't seem to move. Been a day!
So how is your supper coming along folks?
Surely not all doom and gloom! Have you heeded the warning?

The broth was wonderful as were the duck pieces and mushrooms. The green onion was nice. Rather than adding plain egg noodles, I found a package of homemade wonton dumplings that had lingered in the freezer...evidently for far too long. The end result was disappointing. I fished all of the dumplings out and discarded. Will try again tomorrow with the remaining broth.

The spring rolls had been in for as long as the dumplings. I enjoyed the popcorn that I made later.

I didn't actually use this in anything yet, but I made a pesto type thing, that I got the idea for because I remembered the recipe had half parsley in it, and I just harvested a large amount of my hydroponics parsley, and I only harvested half of it! The original recipe was in a book I have, in which he gives suggestions for using it. Here's the recipe on his blog:

The parsley I jammed into a measuring cup, to get the 2 c called for, then washed it, spun it dry, and it weighed 2 oz almost exactly. The cilantro I cleaned the same way, but weighed out 2.4 oz, to get a little stronger cilantro flavor, and I used 6 medium sized garlic cloves - a little more than the recipe. And I used frozen superchilis, in place of serranos. I'll post about my later uses of it. As he says, it lasts for months - until I would use it the times I've made it before. Here's the paste:

I'm still having postdrome from yesterday's migraine, so I kept supper simple. I made some poutine. It was okay. The gravy didn't turn out very tasty, sadly. I can usually make better tasting gravy than that. Oh well. I also made a couple of Danish smørrebrød using cold smoked salmon and some garnishes. I need to practice my smørrebrød garnishing. It tasted good. No pix of the poutine. They were sad looking.
