Somehow, DH lost interest in grilling. I got fresh fish which we had with green salad. Rice from the steamer. And a Dubai chocolate after!!!

I made Homity Pie and served with a bit of salad and home grown tomatoes.

I looked it up.
It sounds good.

Does yours have meat in it?
It tasted pretty good too! (Had some more for lunch today and it actually tasted even better.)

The recipe I used did not have meat in it. However, I couldnt help but think it would be greatly enhanced if I added some smoked bacon to it... so I did! ;-)

I see.
I thought I saw bits of ground meat in it. Laying on top.

Actually they are chopped pieces and distributed throughout the filling, but yes, you can see pieces on the top too. :) And I would say they did enhance the pie. Probably the original recipe was an economical one which wouldn't have included meat historically.

Yum, looked it up to... gonna try it - sounds like a marriage of frittata and quiche.
And that is pretty much exactly how it tasted Dragn! Lots of spinach in it too.

That be pokeweed.
For our poke thread.

It's kind of edible.
Not something I want to mess with. In spite of eating milkweed pods and they are poisonous if not done right.

From what I've read, pokeweed is a little more particular and a lot more poisonous.

I'll try to remember to do that later today. Right now, I'm getting ready to go to the bank. If I don't remember to post it, please remind me. And so I don't have to hunt for it again, it's the recipe for the pork chops Lyonnaise.
Here's the recipe in Danish. Google translate did a great job with one exception. It tells you to serve it with roast potatoes, but it is actually home fries, the kind cut in coins.

I make a couple of changes: I substitute shallots for the onion. I add thyme and I add a good sized blob of Dijon. I found those ideas in other recipes for Lyonnaise pork chops.

Nice taxy, thank you! Made a note of it. Very similar to what I already do when just standing there staring at a chop. LOL

Yeah, it is kind of basic, but I find that the vinegar adds a really nice touch and when you call it Lyonnaise, it sounds fancy. I just realized that I make another change. I use chicken stock, since pork stock is hard to come by. I made it with pork loin once, but it was a bit blander than usual. I think cooking it with the bone adds some flavour. It isn't the first recipe that was a bit disappointing when I tried to make it with a boneless piece of meat instead of the bone-in piece of meat.
