Every time I try to open a new thread I get this:

www.discusscooking.com

Verify you are human by completing the action below.

www.discusscooking.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding.

Now I am the first to admit that I am not human, but this is getting ridiculous, and it never happened until today.

Mine did that earlier, SLoB. Restarting my computer and switching to another browser stopped it. I'm back to my old browser now and it seems fine.

Mine does that if I have VPN enabled. Try turning that off. This behavior is normal, DC is trying to protect itself. Solves my problem every time.

I use Express VPN but you may have any one of a hundred of other apps that provide the same service.

indeed. altho VPN are heavily marketed, and do provide a rather minimal level of "protection" (unless you're a wanted person or spy or . . . )
many web sites do rudimentary-to-advance IP checking - and that causes problems out the proverbial (bleep).

tried to use NordVPN once - extremely disruptive.
it is so pervasive I wound up reformating the hard drive and reinstalling "me" from a pre-VPN disk image.

The Cloudflare check is at our end and used to verify real traffic when there is usually high site use (bots, etc). It's a safety precaution. You may also see it if you are posting from places where spam 'houses" are especially prevalent (asia, northern Europe, etc). VPNs mask your location and so typically you may see the cloudflare message more often if using one.
