yesterday i took some vacuum sealed chicken outa the freezer and found frost and ice crystals in the bag , it wasn't the first time this has happened so i went online and ordered a Vevor model DZ260A chamber vacuum sealer , it will be here sometime Monday

i hope so , never used a " chamber " vacuum " sealer before . a friend of mine is dying to see it when it gets here , i have a feeling he will be buying one like it ...lol he had been complaining about having the same problem i had , and he is really into hunting so if he like's it after seeing it in action i'll almost bet he will get one

I'd love to have one, but they tend to be larger, and I don't have the space for one.

can someone tell me why a vacuum outside the bag is better ? from the video's i have watched people that have these things love em but i'm at a loss as to why they work better

The good chamber vacuum sealers vacuum seal so fast, that you can even vacuum seal liquids.

Vacuum sealing for me is hit-and-miss. I think it's because I am always looking for a low price on bags and rolls.
I vacuumed sealed 3 packs of ribs (whole using rolls) and all three are no better than zip bags.

thats the way it was with us , sometimes the vacuum sealer worked and sometimes it didn't ,so last Thursday morning was the last straw for me. when i saw that frost and ice in a bag that the seal looked perfect on . i knew i was going to try something to keep that from happening again . i had heard and saw one or two videos about chamber vacuum sealers so i started doing a little more digging into them , the 2 drawbacks to them seemed to be (1) the are pricy and (2) they are big and heavy . but what they have in their favor is that everyone that has one swears by them , in fact on one video i watched the guy on it said flat out said that once you get one , you will never go back to the foodsaver type again ,it even showed him vacuum sealing a whole 5 lb chicken in it , so the wife and i talked about it and we agreed we have the space for it , so we decided to spend the money and try one .
we have gone through 3 of the regular ones as we have 4 freezers and do a LOT of vacuum sealing , will it be worth it ? ask me again in a year !!

I wish I had the space for one, as I would love to have one.

what i plan to do in order to help others that might be on the fence about these things is this ,1st i will post photos of it after i get it and show (hopefully ) some good close up photos of something that i have sealed then at a later date some photos of things after they have been in my freezer for a while . so if anyone is even considering buying one stay tuned i will do my best to give an honest review of it compared to the other type

Thanks. Post a picture of it on a countertop so I can see how big it really is.

It isn't about speed. Channel sealers suck air out of the bag, which also pulls on the liquid in the bag, kind of like a straw. Chamber sealers evacuate the chamber, and you avoid the straw effect. The liquids will boil under loss of pressure though, and they can make a mess if you over fill the bag.

Also, you cannot vacuum hot items. Bad mojo doing that.

casydog : i promised you a picture of it sitting on a reg kitchen counter , i hurt my back picking this thing up after it was delivered but i promise i will get those pictures for you soon .
i know you are wondering what that last picture is ...well its is 1/2 of a head of lettuce . i just had to see what would happen  of course the other is 2 slices of bacon i tried , what i can tell everyone so far is this : it has a monster vacuum pump !!! this sucker could suck a basketball down a kitchen sink !!!, the seal is about 4 times as wide as my old one . its early, but i think its going to be worth what i paid for it $ 258.00
i have some rather expenive beef ribs i am going to use it to vac seal tomorrow and put them in the freezer for long time storage and see how they hold up over time and will keep everyone posted about what i think about it as i use it more

Yeah, that's a good one and have used that model for over a decade, well maybe not exactly that one, they have many with different features. Nice purchase for the money. No, maybe not that brand, but looks close. Is that a Vac Master? if not then it is different. I'm sure it will do the job.

I can tell by the pictures you already posted that it would be a storage issue for me. I really don't want anymore stuff on the kitchen counter, and my laundry room is also full of kitchen stuff. The Foodsaver I have now is not as good as the unit you just got, but it gets the job done. If it craps out, I'll look at upgrading. Thanks!
