Wow! Neat, never seen that before, good price too!
But I think they're not using theirs in the kitchen too often. Only 3 usable sides for you to get dirty. That is unless you want to put a dirty apron against your clean clothes with the 4th flip. LOL

Actually easy enuf to sew one up! Just note the measurements and go for it!

For me I need an apron with a bib. It's the front of my shirt that seems to always be in the splatter path. That splatter is almost always oil too,.

To sew one up, I would need to get my sewing machine tuned up. And, at that price, it's not worth the effort. Would that price even cover the fabric nowadays?

Yeah, I would like a bib, but I haven't quite figured out how that would work with a four-sided apron. I do have an idea, but I need to think it through. Maybe a separate bib portion that was longer than to one's waist. You would put the bib portion on and the put the other portion on afterwards, trapping the bottom of the bib portion.

I don't actually mind putting the dirty side towards me. Of course, that depends on how dirty and dirty with what. I like that it gives me a place to wipe a hand that is wet or dirty with food, right there, on me, ready to use.

LOL, oh my, if that's the case - then depending on what I'm wearing, back of pants or shirt tails work just fine.
But you're right. I used to get my machine to the guy in Fairview, was a really decent price. Here... well I lost it for more than two weeks, price was double and it had issues when I got it back. Unfortunately I didn't realize until more than 2 month later.
As I don't really sew that much any more I let it go. The other day I went to use it and sure enough - it crapped out on me. Wouldn't pick up the bobbin thread. I gave it away on facebook and bought a new one for less than half the price of a repair. (Edit - thru amazon, next day delivery)
Happy camper. I butchered up an old pair of jeans and made a couple of 'coats' for 2 of my bro's chickens who'll suffer this winter due to lack of feathers. I'm good to go again,.

I finally bought a salad spinner. I haven't used it yet, though. Bought it a couple of months ago :innocent:

We don't eat that much salad in this house, to be honest. I burned myself out on salads long ago and my son likes salad, but only on occasion. I'll have to do a little 'research' to see what else salad spinners can be used for, besides drying lettuce.

They have uses besides salads. Any berries, veggies, even shrimp.

I don't use mine often, but when I need it, it is great to have.

I got a wonderful OXO salad spinner. But, that sucker is huge. There is hardly any space left for anything else when it's drying in the dish rack. The most recent thing I used it for was to spin most of the water off of some cranberries that I had just rinsed well. I have also used it for spinach and for kale.

OXO makes two sizes of spinners. I have the smaller one, and it is perfect for me.

:-p

Yeah, I wasn't single when I bought mine. And, while they did state how big it was, it was still bigger than I was expecting. I can't blame anyone but me for that.

BTW, one of the things I love about it is the "brake" on the lid.

yeah, that's the one I got.
When my cheapie one died, I went searching everywhere for one. I finally found one after a month or 3 of looking. Was so happy to find one I paid over 40 ruddy dollar$ for it.
Exactly two months later there were a small more useful size available at the Dollar $tore for about $3.00 ...

Doesn't that drive you nuts? :ROFLMAO:

I'm going to use my salad spinner soon to see how I like it. I have a bag of salad I can wash. It's been in the fridge, however, for longer than usual, so I don't know what kind of shape the lettuce is in.

Sorry I missed your last post. How was your lettuce? I would just rip out the soggy brown parts and go for it. :)
I completely forgot about it. The bag of salad (it's one of those salad mixes, I think it's Southwestern style or something similar) is still sitting in the fridge. So no telling what kind of shape it's in by now.

I would definitely be doing some picking, even if the contents were in perfect condition, because it contains kale and I can't stand that stuff. So the kale would have to go.

Yup... the kale has to go!

edit: I have always found those premixed bags deteriorate much faster than whole greens, but they're so handy!

Nice to know I'm not alone. Usually when you tell people you hate kale, they look at you like you've got two heads. It's like "What??? You hate kale??? How can you hate kale??? It's so good for you."

I don't care. It's disgusting.
