Halloween Pumpkin Pie
Serving Size: 8

Notes:
By using a little decorator frosting, you can turn a frozen pumpkin pie into something special.

Ingredients:
1 Pumpkin Pie (frozen and baked or ready baked)
White Frosting (cake decorating icing)
Writing Tip (for white frosting)
1 Plastic Spider

Preparation:
Draw a spider web on your favorite pumpkin pie and give that web its own spider. The little ones will love it and it make a nice touch to any Halloween buffet.

It's for adults.. and one's that drink!

Those sites are awesome!

Lots to choose in just a couple posts whoally.

Well, since I'm back from the grocery store, I've gotta put my two cents in here:

Jello Shots (clearly labled with content)!

One gal brought some huge stuffed olives that looked like eyeballs (nice crabmeat filling I seem to recall...with half of a black olive for the pupil)

Brownies loaded with walnuts that were iced with dark chocolate, then w/ white chocolate piping pulled to make a spider web on top.

One of the biggest food hits was a "ro-tel" type of dip made with Velveeta and a can of Wolf Brand Chili (no beans). Stuff was tinted blood red and looked especially wierd with the chili chunks. Good though.

May think of more...

Witches Fingers:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 egg
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup whole blanched almonds
1 tube red decorator gel

Preparation :

In bowl beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla; beat in flour; baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Working with one-quarter of the dough at a time and keeping remaining dough refrigerated, roll heaping teaspoons full of dough into finger shape for each cookie. Press almond firmly into one end for nail. Squeeze in center to create knuckle shape. Using a paring knife make slashes in several places to form knuckle. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet in 325 degree over for 20-25 minutes or until pale or golden. Let cool for three minutes. Lift up almond; squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed and press almond back in place so gel oozes out from underneath. Remove from cookie sheet and let cool. Repeat with remaining dough. Makes about 5 doz fingers!

Hand Ice Mold & Dragons Blood Punch:

1 liter vodka
Apple juice
Cranberry juice
Ginger ale
New rubber glove
Red food coloring
1 pound Coffee can
Water

To make the hand, fill a new rubber glove with water. Tie at the wrist with string and freeze one or two days. Unmold. Sometimes a finger will fall off when unmolding, this only adds to the ghoulish effect. To make a base for the hand, fill a one-pound coffee can about 1/3 full with water. Insert the hand and freeze until firm.

To make the punch, mix equal parts of vodka, juices and gingerale. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, place half the mixture in the punch bowl. Insert hand ice mold in the center. Fill bowl with remaining punch.

For added effect, place a few drops of red food coloring on the tips of the fingers just before serving.

a cute one i've seen bunches of times is to stuff not-too-hot caramel corn into plastic gloves and when they're cool, you use candy corn to make fingernails.

just an afterthought...
a batch of rice krispies treats treats dyed orange with paste food coloring and a batch dyed black with paste food coloring would be reallly yummy.
maybe a little spritz of non-sstick spray into each glove would help prevent sticking, especially if you smushed and scrunched the goveve to distubrute the spray. :?:

Halloween snack mix:

1/2 cup blood drops (red hots)
1/2 cup cats eyes (blanched almonds or gum drops)
1/2 cup cats claws (sunflower seeds)
1 cup chicken toenails (candy corn)
1 cup colored flies (M & M's)
1 cup butterfly wings (corn chips)
1 cup ants (raisins)
1 cup earthworms (cheese curls)
1 cup cobwebs (Triscuits)
1 cup snakes eyes (peanuts)
1 cup bats bones (shoestring potatoes)

Mix together in a large bowl. Serve with several pints of blood punch or Grateful Dead drinks.

Halloween chili:

1 1/4 lb ground goblin gizzards (ground beef 15% fat)
1 md eye of Cyclops (onion)
15 oz can soft shelled beetles (kidney beans)
28 oz can blood of bat (V8 juice)
1/8 tsp pureed wasp (prepared mustard)
1/4 tsp common dried weed (oregano)
1 dash redtailed hawk toenails (crushed redpepper)
2 tsp ground sumac blossom (chili powder)
1 tsp hemlock (honey or sugar)
1/2 cup fresh grubs (sliced celery)
1 tbsp eye of Newt (pearled barley)
1 tbsp dried maggots (uncooked rice)
water from a stagnant pond (tap water)

Best made during the last phase of the moon, if that is not possible, just do the best you can in a softly lighted kitchen after dark. Brown the gizzards in an iron cauldron over a fire made from the siding off of a haunted house, add chopped eye of cyclops and simmer until the pieces of eye become translucent again, add blood of bat, and soft shelled beetles, bring to a slow bubbling boil. At this time, add the common weed, maggots, toenails, sumac, grubs, hemlock, eye of newt and the pureed
wasp. As it cooks you may want to adjust the consistency with pond
water. You can tell it is done when the eye of newt swells and the
vertical tan colored 'cats eye' appears on one side.
