Just joined. Haven't explored the forum much.

A bit about myself. I am past a half century old. I love to cook but suddenly I am single with nobody to cook for. Except my cat. She is eager to be my taste tester.

My current kitchen is small with very little counter and storage space. So I need to learn to control my cooking and only cook for one, not one hundred.
I thank you in advance for the opportunity to join a forum like this.

Welcome to the forum. Vacationed in Maine ( Sebago Lake) for many summers with my family. My kids are now grown and moved out, so I had to learn how to cook for 2 instead of 4. Takes time to learn how to downsize, especially when used to cooking specific recipes for so long. Some I can portion and freeze, but not all. My cats also are my taste testers.

Welcome to Discuss Cooking. I laughed right out loud about your comment about the cat. Yup. Well, if you cook veggies, they still want to know what it is. When you show them, they look at you like you are nuts. "That's not food."

I give her the option to try almost anything I cook. The funniest expression I got was when I steamed broccoli. I wish I had my phone ready for that.
