K-girl, see if the grocery will order some cherry peppers for you. Might have to buy the whole box, but I'm sure you'd use them up.

Ya know med, that was my first question to the store manager when I inquired, but their response was NO.
I could order from Amazon, but MAN-O-MAN!!! They're so expensive.
I'll just wait until we head South for our annual doctor's appointments and get a bunch down there. Here's hoping that life as we knew it prior to last month returns. :ermm:

Try Wal-Mart with store pick up, or spend enough to get free shipping. I think it's $30-35. I've found grocery items don't have the mark-up there that Amazon does. A 4-pack is under $12 with pick-up.

Sadly, these are out of stock. I'd bet that once the world finds its axis again, I'd be able to get them shipped, but pick-up is out of the question, I tried that before.

Question med:
What is the shelf-life of these babies, unopened?
32 ounce jars would last me a pretty good long time before we ate them up, even if I did make stuffed Peppers.

Day 10

I've gained 1.4 pounds! (I weigh myself every Sunday) Dang it all!
I'm a petite woman and even that amount of weight is enough to show.

DH: Gee, it's taking much longer to walk around you lately
Moi: :glare:

Is that when you konked him with the cast iron skillet?

Commercially canned peppers, I would imagine a REALLY long time (like years) as long as they are unopened and are stored in a cool, dry place.

I Got Some Groceries!!!!

I am so very grateful for NextDoor!
This is a closed Social Media Site where neighbors connect with other neighbors.

With all that is going on in this crazy World we live in today,
I have NOT done any grocery shopping, NONE!!!
DH thinks I'm ill, no, I don't want to get ill

Some of our neighbors have been posting on this NextDoor
how and where you can get groceries and other essential items in our area.

Yesterday afternoon I place an order online with
grocery.walmart.com
for:
1 qt Whole milk
1/2 gal. Half & Half
1 doz Eggs
1 clam-shell of Cocktail Tomatoes
3 Cucumbers
2 Yellow Onions
4 White Potatoes
5 Bananas
1 bunch Radishes
1lb. Asparagus
1 head of Romaine Lettuce
1lb. Carrots
1 pck. Vienna Beef Hot Dogs
1 pck Aunt Hattie's Hamburger Buns
3 64oz Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice
(1) 18 count assorted Frito Lays Chips
1 gal Distilled Water

I opted for "No Substitutions"
and received everything except for:
Water
Juice
Potatoes
Hamburger Buns

Not bad!!

I am SO very grateful!
I must admit that I haven't been sleeping well,
worrying about fresh produce and dairy.
Now that I have these fill-ins to my well stocked freezer and pantry,
I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Next up:
WINE!!!

Aah!
We have a "drive-up-window/take-out" liquor store two towns up
It's not going to be Three Buck Chuck, it'll have to do ;)

I live in Quebec. We have a provincial liquor store, which is the only place to get hard liquor. Some wine and most beer is available in convenience stores and grocery stores. But, we seem to have a different attitude about wine and booze here. The SAQ (that's the name of the provincial stores. It means Société d'Alcool du Québec = Quebec Alcohol Corporation) is one of the very few types of stores that are allowed to stay open. They deliver! I can order booze online and it will show up at my home.

Here in Arizona, we can buy Beer, Wine and Hard liquor just about anywhere.

Day TEN!!!

I may have made mention that just prior to
the Earth going off it's axis,
I had gone grocery shopping and filled in a few,
extras shall we say... things that we didn't
necessarily need just now, but that was a
good thing, as my girl Martha would say

Sunday Brunch!

I found the local Carniceria a bit ago,
and they make their own Tortillas
BEAUTIFUL!
So it was Fire Toasted Flour Tortillas
filled with Scrambled Eggs, shredded Cheese
and chopped Turkey Sausages
:yum:

Lunch

Well, we did have any, again today :ermm:

Sunday Pasta Dinner

I still had one more pre-made pan of
Lasagna in the Deep Freeze with
cooking instructions but no date on it
It turned out great!
That's an 8 1/2 X 6 inch aluminum pan
with FOUR healthy portions to it!
Add some Tadre Joes Ciabatta and we're set
for another meal :chef:

No picture but I made spinach with scrambled eggs for a late breakfast today. Only mention it here because I mixed one large fresh egg with the equivalent of one egg from powdered. I liked it and will continue the practice for the duration of the current calamity or until my supply of either one runs out.

I must be loosing my mind
I TOTALLY forgot to say that I
placed my online order for groceries
for PICK-UP!!!
I didn't even have to get out of my car.
You get an allotted time slot for your
pick-up, and once there, you call this
telephone number at the designated
parking stall, and this very nice young Man
brought out my order
AND
put it all in my car trunk!
On the site it says that they don't
want you tipping, so ...
I'm so very grateful!

I used my last egg White in our scramble yesterday.
I was forced to use only whole Eggs this morning
and I can feel the affects already.
The whole eggs have been bothering my tummy,
but the half/half of whole Egg/Whites - not so much

go figure

Ok broke out the filet mignon last night and cleaned it up. Used the iffy parts to make tips. Also made a Bearnaise sauce to go with it. In addition warned up some mash potatoes I made the other day. Finally capped the night by making some oh so delicious chocolate on chocolate buttercream cupcakes :) :) :)
Oh and finally got around to opening that truffle butter I had purchased recently. What a hit on both the potatoes and the filet!

Day Eleven

This is getting old, but I understand that we need to do this.
The folks two doors over from us are older and have NOT
been practicing Social Distancing nor Self-Isolation/whatever
you want to call it in your house, just stay in it!
The Missus came over to our house to return a container
that I gave them sometime back with I can't remember
what was in it, that I shared with them ...
she wanted to give me a hug :ermm: I explained
to her politely that we're not doing that just now

Breakfast

I had a small bit of fresh Mushrooms that REALLY
needed to get eaten, so I decided on omelettes (now that I
got another dozen Eggs, we're good) with
some diced leftover BACON,
Chives and Cheese of the diner's choice.
Added some diced Tomatoes for DH and some Rye Toast.
Not Pictured is a sliced Cara Cara Orange as a starter.

Lunch

Tuna Salad on toasted White Bread and Chips.
I like to add slice Black Olives to my Tuna Salad, along with chopped Onions, Celery, Carrots, Dill relish and minimal Mayo, ya know, DH had his,
"Eww, I don't like that"
Not Pictured was an Ice Cold Coca-Cola to wash it all down.

Dinner

I was soooo happy to have gotten some fresh produce yesterday,
and I wanted badly a nice Salad.
I went with my Greek-Inspired Chicken Salad.
I make my own Greek-Style Seasoning and Salad Dressing.
Chop up some Romaine, Sweet Bell Peppers, Sweet White Onions,
Cucumbers, crack open and pit some Trader Joe's Greek Medley
Olives and a good sprinkle of Feta Cheese.
We had leftover Trader Joe's Ciabatta to go with and I happy!!!

HEH!
As I review this post, I realize that we had bread three times today,
we NEVER do that :pig:
