I had some Double Gloucester cheese to use up, so I made a cheesy vegetable bake (potato slices, carrot, green beans, broccoli, onion and lots of cauliflower - all steamed). The cheese sauce was a standard roux, with Double Gloucester and Cheddar, and a goodly amount of Dijon mustard. Pretty good and plenty left for tomorrow. :)

We took my Mother for her bi-weekly beautification appointment aka hair dresser and then out to Linner (late lunch/early dinner) at a joint that we've all liked in the past. Not so much for DH & I this time around

Not so hot, there was Mayo in it! You don't put Mayo in a Cubano Sandwich!
Good thing we shared, we left it on the table.

Mom ordered a Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich and love it, but then she loves anything you put in front of her.

I'll scratch something up for us two later on to fill in that gap.

Buffalo wings. I used a blend of flour and corn starch to coat the wings, and did a double fry (325-rest-375). They came out very crisp, but still juicy and tender inside.

The crispy crust held up to the sauce (50/50 butter and Frank's Red Hot) for a while, but eventually got soft. Still good, though.
