TLDR- Although wifi etc is unnecessary I have had a good experience of it.
I agree with Shining Wizard completely but I will add I inadvertently bought an outdoor oven with wifi and a built in thermometer.
I didn’t think much of it at first because it wasn’t a feature I’d ever used, needed or wanted.
Then I tried it out and I am a convert.
Don’t get me wrong it would be the last thing I’d look at or even consider when buying an oven, the rest of the ovens functions would come first, wifi and a built in thermometer is just a bonus.
But it is marvellous to be able to use an app to glance at the internal temperature for example of a joint of meat, you can get on with other things but know when you need to get back in the kitchen to start the other dishes.
No hovering or opening the door to check the temp.
If it’s temp is rising too quickly or slowly you can adjust the temp from the app.
I also often set it to turn the oven off when the desired temperature is reached.
This means I can for example I can put something like chicken in the oven and go out knowing there will sandwich meat ready for everyone at lunch time.
I am wary and mistrustful of this new tech but it’s not failed once and has yielded good results so
