Need help

When I go post something/anythigng, I cannot add pictures, or change font, or add a link. All those would be options on the top of the "posting" box are not highlighting. I cannot clicl on any of them. It started couple of weeks ago. Maybe I pushed something. Buit i do not know what could it have been. Please help. I used attach file optio to add this picture. I do not know if it is clear enough that all the option are just light grey.

Spell checking is not part of the forum software, it is done by your computer's Operating System.

If the two problems you posted are related, maybe you did something on your PC. If you use Windows, I don't know what that might be, since I don't.

I think I know what the problem is. You can't do any of those things while you are previewing the post. You have to turn off the preview.

This is the preview button. It's at the top right corner of the window where you type your reply:

I have gotten caught by that before. It turns red while you are in preview mode.

Not sure that's the solution as you also can't enter text in preview mode. At least I can't, I've tried. Charlie has said that this is continuous, from one post to another. The preview mode doesn't follow you around. I think it has to be something else in his settings somewhere.

Yes, it is quite possible that this is not the problem. But, I really think that Charlie should check to see if that is what has been causing the problem. He may have been clicking the preview button and not realized or remembered that he would need to click it again to get back to edit mode. It has certainly gotten my goat more than once, even after I had figured it out the previous times.

Dragnlaw is right, you cannot type in Previw mode

Maybe try logging out and then back in. Clear your cache and cookies as well, see if that helps.

As a related question, has the forum done an update to the forum software recently that may be causing CharlieD's browser problems. I've had that happen with Safari. I usually get told that the "solution" to all my problems is switching to Google's Chrome browser (which will never happen).

I just had to update my Safari browser to the newest version.
