My saggy mattress really, really, really needs to be replaced. So I was in the mall the other day and wandered into Linen Chest.

...... and bought a duvet, sigh.... then of course, I needed a duvet cover..... and a new bed skirt.....
They are on the bed, but now I can see I don't like the cover. Darn near killed me getting it on the duvet but tomorrow - off it comes to be returned to Home Sense and then another trip over to Linen Chest to get a different one at double the price... but I think I'll like it, I hope.

I would go with food. Sleep is my superpower as I can sleep anywhere.

I used to be that way, but not anymore. I can fall asleep on anything, but then I wake up and can't move without significant pain.

I have an antiques bedroom set, and they apparently didn't make anything bigger than a full-size bed 100 years ago. My next bed will be a Queen size, so that bed will have to go to the guest bedroom.

The problem with a full size is that I am just a tiny bit too tall for it.

I have never understood bed skirts. Seems like a waste of money, to me. A duvet in Canada makes a lot of sense. Not so much in Texas. Most of the year, I can sleep with a top sheet only, and a blanket/quilt on really cold nights.

With a duvet, you never end up with an itchy blanket on your skin and your top sheet wadded up somewhere else. When the duvet gets dislocated, it's just one thing to have to pull back where it belongs. In summer, an empty duvet cover is the perfect covering. It has just that little bit more weight than a top sheet, that makes it more comforting.

Yeah, love duvets. First came across them in Germany, late 50's. They were over filled with down and were huge fluffy things. Warm in winter and surprisingly cool in summer. The covers were always white. Not like now with multiple choices of colour, design, materials.
This one is fibre filled, I contemplated down but decided I'd rather buy multiple covers to suite my moods and not have to shake and fluff the feathers all the time.

And not surprising, I've decided I don't like the cover I got. This morning after I finish waking up, eating, I will attempt to fold it back up and stuff it back into the packaging. Rest of the day will be spent waffling back and forth trying to choose one.
