i'm making what i call " Hamburger " or "no name' stew " its never really had a name that i know of but my family has been making it since i was little kid
this is a recipe that you can feel free to tinker with all you like because none of this is set in stone so here it is :
1 pound ground beef
3-4 russet potatoes
1/2 yellow onion
i large can tomato sauce
the rest of the ingredients i will give as follows
1 cup or so ketchup
1 cup or so BBQ sauce
a dab of chili powder
a dab of garlic powder
2-3 good pinches salt
a fair amount black pepper
in case your wondering how much a dab is , its about 4 good shakes
the rest you will just have to figure out for yourself
dice the onions and fry them with the ground beef till brown
in a large pot dice the potatoes and add the tomato sauce and all other ingredients
when the meat/onions are done dump em in there to
cook till the taters are soft and its ready to eat( the longer you cook it the better it gets )
i think a lot of folks make this in one form or another, but it sure is good on a cold winter day
have fun with it :) If it doesn't taste good to you, just add a little more of this or that until it does

I've made similar with stew meat before. It's good.

I don't put as much into my home made beef stew BUT will certainly throw some of what you use into my next one to beef it up a bit - no pun intended sorry (y)
