Do you have favorite foods or snacks you used to love to either just munch on or cook with that you can no longer find? Or foods that have been discontinued?

I used to really love the little La Choy mini egg rolls. I believe they disappeared sometime in the late 90's, early 2000's. I was crazy about them and wish they would start making them again. I'd fix and eat a whole box to myself. These are the chicken ones, but I also loved the shrimp.

There used to be a cake at the A&P markets called Spanish Bar.

I have the recipe for it, but it would be much better if I could just go to the grocery store and buy one.

Canned Hams.
Used to be an entire section of them.
Out here no more. None.
Luar, Oscar Mayer, Farmer John, Dubuque, Old Dominion, Hormel, DAK, Armor Star, countless none out in these parts.
Maybe elsewhere.

I used to really like Swift Premium frozen breakfast sausages. I liked both the beef ones and the pork ones. They also had a nice short ingredient list that was all food.

We aren't big on hams. I don't think I ever made a ham with glaze and cloves and pineapple, etc. We buy ham steaks now. Why we don't eat in the first pass we save for omelets.

I buy Jones brand. No artificial ingredients, just pork, water salt, spices and sugar. Not sure if they get up to Canada.

A quick look at Walmart's web site I find 6; Bristol, Dak, Maple Leaf, Goya, and Dutch Colony, all 1 lb, and Hormel, 3 lb. In addition, Von's/Safeway/Albertsons had Dubuque and Hormel, 3 Lb.

HotShot. It's a blend of red and black pepper. Yes, I can add red and black pepper but it is never the same. I really miss having the ready-made stuff by McCormick.

Not so very long ago, but CHOCO-TACOS!

And last, but not least, Noodles Romanoff. I could have eaten the entire box by myself.

How about real Ho-Hos wrapped in foil?

I can't find these anywhere anymore. They were a perfect size for a side dish, or for a snack, and took a total of three minutes to microwave. After eating, you rinse out the cup and toss it into the recycling bin (where it has about a ten percent chance of getting recycled).

Oh! The noodles dish reminds me of another old favorite of mine. I miss this so much.

Fatty pork chops.
I love the fat on pork chops. Well, cooked, of course, but yeah.

But you're right, I haven't had a good, fatty chop in a long while.

My sister used to get grossed out at me eating the chunky fat around the chops whenever mom would cook them. She would always ask, as I was cutting off a hunk of the fat, "You're seriously going to eat that???"

"Yep."

Once upon a time there was a seasoning salt blend that had course grind seeds, etc. So a bit chunkier than powders common today. I haven't seen it since the '70s and I can't remember the name. But it had a way of somehow ticking all of the boxes...salty, tangy, sweet, and savory.

They used to be individually wrapped in thin aluminum foil, but are now wrapped in plastic, like a Twinkie.

Hostess version of a Little Debby Swiss Roll kinda sorta. We more often had Hostess Ding Dongs. Round cake filled with cream and wrapped in foil back in the day. I think the foil wrapped versions were enrobed in actual milk chocolate instead of the faux chocolatey stuff of today.
