I always thought caramel and candy apples a big waste of apple! Even as a kid - were not my favourites to find in the Halloween loot.
Candy broke and most fell to the ground - leaving an apple on a silly stick, too large for a child to eat.
Caramel when chewed off with a bit of apple was OK. But still, when the caramel was all gone - another silly apple on a stick, too large for a child to eat.
Waste

This is a real stretch. Oscar Meyer sandwich spread.

I miss all the large variety of Swanson frozen dinners - especially the “ ethnic” dinners - the Mexican enchiladas, Bavarian (spatzle, red cabbage and Sauerbraten). Too many to list. I really miss the old meatloaf with tomato sauce. They had more variety of carbs like rice, noodles, rice, and tater tot’s, more desserts and veggies.

HotShot. It's a blend of red and black pepper. Yes, I can add red and black pepper but it is never the same. I really miss having the ready-made stuff by McCormick.

Not so very long ago, but CHOCO-TACOS!

And last, but not least, Noodles Romanoff. I could have eaten the entire box by myself.

How about real Ho-Hos wrapped in foil?
I saw choco-tacos at a WaWa back around 2020. Used to get them at Taco Bell. But they have been discontinued. I loved them.

I don't recall any of the ethnic dinners from Swanson. I just remember things like the turkey dinner (one of my favorites) and fried chicken, salisbury steak, etc. Oh, and yes, I remember the meatloaf in the tomato sauce. So good. But then TV dinners were actually a 'treat' for us. My mom cooked a lot and we ate homemade meals 90% of the time. But we were allowed TV dinners as a special treat (which we always looked forward to) or anytime our parents would go out for the night and leave us with the babysitter. TV dinners are what the babysitter would fix for us.

Dang. I just suddenly got an overwhelming urge to be a kid again :(

When my parents would go out for "date night," and we had a sitter, we'd get Swanson TV dinners.

They were good kid food, but I can't say I really want them now.

I'll buy the Banquet frozen dinners (as well as the Banquet pot pies) and keep them in the freezer for those "quick grab" days where I don't have anything prepared to take to work for lunch.

That's pretty much the only time I eat them. Mostly I try and take sandwiches or leftovers from meals. But sometimes I don't have anything at the ready, so I'll grab a frozen meal on my way out the door.

For the record, the turkey dinner is still my favorite. It actually sucks, but it's still my favorite. If that makes any sense :ROFLMAO:

Like others, 97% of the time Mom cooked. On very rare occasions we got TV dinners, I don't remember what those occasions involved though. The meal was edible but never great.
I loved the divided compartments and the desserts were usually OK. Gravy, mashed potatoes were good but the meats had a funny taste to them and the vegies weren't my favourites but back then didn't have any favourite vegies to begin with!
But just loved those divided trays!

Concentrated frozen orange juice.
I have a lovely orange cheesecake recipe that was flavoured using that stuff and I would dearly like to have that cheesecake again.
Unfortunately I have made many attempts to recreate it using other sources of orange but it's just not the same.

Could have been regional.

When McDonalds long, long ago had the Barbie Happy Meals, in Reservation Happy Meals the Barbie’s were Native American.

Our Barbie collecting girls knew this and we got McDonalds on the reservations when we traveled.

BTW a few reservation McDonald’s locations still fresh cook their food.

Have you looked online? I see them but GB may be different.
I have many times. Annoyingly the internet is convinced it's still available here but it's not and hasn't been for many years now.
I tried making my own but it's not possible to achieve that bright fresh taste because the heat you use to cause the evaporation also ruins the zesty flavour.
Heyho.
