I'm looking for recipes using a piece of pork shoulder and pork stock that DOES NOT INCLUDE: beans, chiles or kale. I already have Steve Kroll's Hungarian Goulash Soup recipe.

I would make an old fashioned boiled dinner with carrots, onions, potatoes, cabbage, etc…

Start by browning the pork shoulder to get some color on it, toss it in the pot to simmer, add vegetables according to how long each item needs to cook.

Save the stock for a pot of soup!

Mote pata. It was fantastic. We both loved it. It was a want to lick the bowl dish.

Here is one I posted years ago, about 9 or 10 posts down - no pork stock in it, but you can save the bones for another purpose. It is good with canned, crushed tomatoes, and is good with white or cremini mushrooms. The creme fraîche or créma definitely adds to the dish. The meat can be browned in batches in a 5 qt Dutch oven; I usually doubled the recipe, so the sauté pan was faster. And I've made it with many combinations of herbs - rosemary and a little sage were the most popular together, and my favorite, as well.

How about pulled pork for sandwiches? You could decide what kind of pulled pork to make. Carolina sweet or Carolina mustard, Kansas-style, etc. It would not use a lot of stock...maybe 2 cups depending on which kind you make.

Babi kecap?
I think you can consider it a stew.
Pork, sweet soy, ginger
