One of my favorite ways to eat chicken wings is to toss and marinate them in soy sauce. Then bake in the oven. Sorry, no hot sauce for me.

That was a long spell from two Thursdays ago until this Sunday, when Cleveland takes on Detroit. This game will tell a lot about the state of the Browns... And while it's going on I'll be making and eating these Simply Scratch » Detroit-Style Coney Dogs I even bought the all beef Ball Park franks to set them off from my regular Smiths hot dogs. I think we'll do the chili cheese fries, too. I haven't had some of those in a long time

What's even "tastier" than those dogs is that our Browns are up by 10 going into the half!

Since my back door is right in my kitchen, I set up a table out the door and put the deepfryer on it. I have an outlet plug for the porch light. Works for me and no grease smell to get rid of in the apartment.

I bought an electric pressure cooker and I'm trying it out for the first time. DH and I had no idea how to program it and I was doing the reading while he was pushing the buttons. We put that out on the back porch in case we did something wrong and it explodes. LOL

When I make stuffed cabbage rolls, I cook them in the oven in the winter, but in the summer I put them in a big electric roaster and that goes out on the porch, too. The whole neighborhood can smell them cooking.

Never tried it with the deep fryer. That will be next.

It's Vikings vs Carolina this week. I figure the Vikes need a head start so I went ahead and grill smoked spare ribs yesterday. Doesn't seem to have helped as Vikes are way down at half-time. DxW and her dog are napping on the couch. I went ahead and put some herb rubbed skin on chix breasts in the oven for her and there will be acorn squash with butter and brown sugar too. The ribs will reheat nicely in foil. Post game tail gate in about an hour.

KB, you don't say where you're from, so maybe you have no clue, but no, here in the US the Super Bowl hasn't ended yet. It's not even halfway through our football season. Otherwise how could I even be doing this if my team wasn't playing?

This recipe could have used more bite to it. Maybe more cumin and chili powder, but it was still pretty good. And another week under my belt... well, maybe a little over my belt

And I'm sorry I put the kabosh on the game. Well, maybe I didn't do it. Let's blame Wheeden. Or did the Lion's defense adjust really good at halftime?

I was thinking, it might be potato skins with pulled pork and Carolina sauce, maybe a cole slaw side. I'm intrigued, but not enough to pay their prices and they aren't really good at answering their phone...I tried.

Carolina Sauce

• 1 cup prepared yellow mustard
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup light brown sugar
• 3/4 cup cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup water
• 2 tablespoons chili powder
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon white pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
• 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 tablespoon liquid smoke (hickory flavoring)

I'm out of stadium mustard at the moment. This is just Plochmans.
And I think Cleveland just remembered who they were The wind went right out of our sales after halftime.

Amazing Comeback Day in Boston. First Brady brought the Pats back to beat the Saints with 5 seconds to go. Then the Red Sox fought back from a 5-1 deficit with a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th and a walk-off run for the win in the bottom of the 9th!

Lots of yelling at the Andy M. household Sunday!
