Wherever you find a recipe, would you post it without first trying it yourself? Personally, I would be embarrassed to do so, no matter the source.:(

I don't think it's ever occurred to me to post a recipe in its own thread that I haven't used myself. I have sometimes posted a link to a recipe or recipe site that someone asked about, but only after checking out several to see which would make the most sense to me. I think I'm an experienced enough cook that I have an idea of what a dish will taste like from reading the recipe.

I do a tasting with my husband prior to posting however, most of the recipes I post, are from my Mom or paternal Grandmom and they have been prepared over a million times in 32 yrs. together.

When I post a recipe from a well known or not so well known Chef, we had eaten his or her version; at home: we cut the recipe into 1/2 or less, and do a home tasting tapa size. If it is to our liking, I shall prepare it for two.

Interesting post.
Have nice summer,
Ciao, Margi.
