How To Grill by Steve Raichlen Buy one of the less expensive used copies so you can get it dirty. Steve's not always right but he's very seldom wrong.

No, but then, I've been grilling for 60 years, so reading books about grilling is not my thing. My daughter tells me that I am one that has to learn by licking the pole! (In a climate as cold as ours, if you lick cold metal - -17 degrees or lower - the saliva on your tounge will freeze, and you will "stick to the pole").

The Barbecue! Bible: Steven Raichlen: 9780761149439: Amazon.com: Books I watch Steve's television shows and that's where I got my awesome grilled rib recipe from. This book contains a lot of recipes like that. Great for the person that learns by doing and just needs a few guidelines to get started.
