Just curious how well my weber spirit e310 will do for smoking.

I have a smallish smoker box I can put in it, got some wood chips, and am hankering to try.

Assuming this is a reasonable idea, any recipe recommendations for a newbie's first try would be appreciated - never smoked anything before, so I'm about as green as they come in this area.

Pretty much anything that's a good option to try first time out.

Grill is a three-burner (front to back), and I don't have a rotisserie yet, so for now it would have to be something that would sit on the grill or in a pan on the grill.

Thanks!

I've found with those smoker boxes, they will add a little smoke flavor, not really a smoked piece of meat. I'd use the rear burner for the smoke / heat, all other burners off and a drip pan under over the front burner with your food over it. Start with a chicken or chicken pieces (thighs) for your first cook. Chicken will take smoke more readily than other meats and is less expensive so mistakes aren't as costly. Hope this helps. BTW, don't forget the pictures! ;)
