I got to the Houston airport in time for my favorite cheese enchiladas for lunch. Then my flight got delayed, and delayed, then I go on board, and the plane had a flat tire. That's a first for me. A plane with a flat tire. We had to get off and fight for a seat on a later flight on a holiday weekend.

Flying American Airlines 120 times a year for 20 years has some benefits. I got booked first class on another flight at 7:49 PM. Not great, but I will get home tonight.

I am at the same restaurant having some really good chips and queso, at airport prices. It was really good queso, with a lot of meat and pickled jalapeños. Just the right amount of food to get me home.

Like the saying goes, It is what it is. When it comes to airport food, pay a lot for good food, or pay a lot for Chic-fil-a crap on a bun. You would have to pay me to eat Chic-fi-a, so it is an easy choice for me.

I cooked a tray bake of chicken breast, a couple of breakfast sausages, a couple of Santiago lime & cilantro sausages, mushrooms, sunroots (fartichokes) carrot, celeriac, celery, and onion. I took one bite of the breakfast sausage and decided that it didn't work with this meal, so those got put away for another meal. I only managed to eat the tenderloin of the chicken breast. That, some of the veg and one of the other sausages was all I could manage. It was very good. I do like a good tray bake.

That is a great looking chips and queso! I'll be eating DFW airport food tomorrow and Thursday as my middle sister and I visit our oldest sister in Williamsburg VA.

SO and I had Burger King in Manchester NH. Flew to Orlando. Our daughter is treating us to a birthday visit to Epcot and visits with our great granddaughters. Home on Wednesday.

We also had Burger King. Last Sunday, November 24, we went to IL to visit my sister and family. We took our three kittens! Last night, we returned and still had all three kittens. On the drives both ways, we kept meals to a minimum so they would not be alone.

fortunately, with the 1950's Popular Science widespread availability of flying-cars-that-fit-in-your-garage, we ate at the home kitchen airport . . . .

after a career as an "airplane seat tester" - I have two rules:
#1 - never ever get on an airplane hungry
#2 - peak holiday season(s), drive. never ever even attempt to fly.

it's like Las Vegas:
never fly in on Thursday/Friday.
never fly out on a Sunday/Monday.

I would never travel long distance geared to arrive Friday at destination city for afternoon traffic. By the same token neither would I leave on a Monday morning from a big city. Horrid traffic. Accidents just waiting to happen.
