Can I substitute ricotta cheese for sour cream in a banana bread recipe?

Welcome to DC. Someone will come along with an answer to your question. But I would say yes. Although expect it to be grainy. The ricotta will give you a sweet taste instead of a sour taste.

Please post your recipe. The answer depends on which leavening agent is used. If it's baking soda, it needs an acidic ingredient like sour cream in order to rise.
