I recently found out I am allergic to chili pepper. Unfortunately many of the foods I like contain chili pepper. Are there any good substitutes for it to use in chili and taco seasoning for instance? Thanks!

When I cook authentic Indian food I use deseeded chillies for flavor and fresh ground black pepper for heat.

Use more cumin which is in chili powder and taco seasoning.

Depending on if you're like me and your allergy is triggered by the Capsaicin rather than the actual vegetable, bell peppers/Bullhorn peppers + Paprika and black pepper is my usual combo to substitute (if it's asking for powder then it's just paprika and black pepper).
