Superbowl Sunday Dinner, February 12, 2023

We had grape leaves with avgolemono sauce, hummus, feta, tomatoes, and pita with tzatziki sauce. Dessert was Bougatsa with vanilla custard inside and dusted with a hint of powdered sugar. What did everyone else have?

Fly Eagles, fly! Cheesesteak sandwiches at our house. No Whiz, so I used provolone. Really should be Whiz.

DH found a FREE streaming "channel" to watch the big game... I had already planned a non-snack-y supper

Ham Steak, Scalloped Potatoes and Green Beans, YUM!

Leftovers for Mom... she'll be very happy with this!

Creamy asparagus soup with whole wheat toast strips. Salads: iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, apple, broccoli, wheat berries, red beans. Mustard dressing for me.

DH had supper with his brother in Cornwall before taking the train home. I had a fried egg with a whole wheat English muffin. Then I ate a half a box of pecan chews. Later, I had shrimp on rye crisp bread and soon, I'll have some blue cheese on some more of that rye crisp bread.

A large salad with crunchy romaine, onions, ripe olives, banana pepper rings and a sliced Buffalo style chicken tender.

The dressing was made with a combination of chunky salsa, sour cream and mayonnaise. ?

A bar of 85% dark chocolate from Aldi for afters.

We had cassoulet with French bread and the last of our homegrown tomatoes with red onions and dressed with olive oil and black pepper. It was super!

I had leftovers from Saturday. DH had a charcuterie plate. I made a new kind of cookie yesterday for dessert - I'll post pix in the Baking thread.

Nobody eats dinner on Superbowel Sunday. They graze, munch and snack.

I had a frozen rising crust 3 meat pizza to which I added sliced olives, pepperoncini and pecarino Romano; home made Buffalo wings made with the origianl Anchor Bar recipe; Ritz crackers with jalapeño cheddar cheese and cheddar cheese and smokey bacon spreads, White Cheddar Chex mix; and almond, cashew, peanut, M&M and raisin trail mix. It was washed down with a half litre of Pepsi Zero Sugar and a half litre of Fresca. No alcohol because I wanted to see the secnond half of the game for a change!
