I made more Danish comfort food. This time it was something called "ild i røret", which means fire in the pipe/tube. I think it has that name because it's a bit hot, especially for a Scandinavian dish. It had ground beef, onion, finely sliced cabbage, celeriac, carrots, passata , veggie , and curry paste, as well as some cumin, cayenne, Worcestershire. Finally, some whole wheat elbow macaroni was cooked in the pot with everything else. I really enjoyed that and it made a huge batch. Leftovers reheat well and they can be made into soup simply by heating with stock. I had vanilla ice cream for dessert.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning, which required me to fast before the vampires took some of my blood. I left the office and there is a Whataburger a block away. Yeah, I had to do it. Whataburger cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato and mayo, with fries and their amazing ketchup.

After that guilty pleasure, I had a very simple one slice ham and cheese sandwich for dinner.

It's all about balance, right?

i was home so i made swiss steak with red potatoes. the house smelled good and since we have our former foster cat staying with us for a while, i thought the smell would be appreciated.

That a 20 gallon one?

We just replaced our 40 gallon with another 40 gallon.
It is an 80 gallon. HWH guy says size needed is determined by the number of "Tubs" in the home. The old one was an 80 gallon and he said a 50 gallon would not do, as we have 2 tubs, 1 being a large soaker tub.

What is the big white, tank-like thing on top? And now that I'm looking at that more carefully, where's the pipe that gets hot water to the rest of the house? Oh wait, I see the pipe now. It goes into the wall below the electric outlet. Is that electric outlet where the water heater gets its power?

Not trying to doubt you but that looks smaller than ours. We also got a Braford White but in gas.

Once upon a time, many years after we moved to the house, the County decided that everyone had to have a gizmo at the water connection that would not allow "back flow" from their property back to the water supply. That gizmo, forced us to have that tank at the top added, so that we don't get push back from the County's gizmo. At least, that's what my memory tells me. If I ask DH, I'm sure he would know all the technical stuff...but, frankly, I'm not in the mood to listen. :ROFLMAO: If you need more explanation, I'll ask, another day & report back.

P.S. DH said, think of it as a shock absorber.
