Back to Taco Bell for this limited time item.

I picked up the meal as the image shows but was forced to get the Bell Sauce as somehow that was all they had. Was going to go for the Jalapeno Honey Mustard.

I had a wait a couple minutes for my order which was a good thing as I would not get cold food.

At my local Taco Bell the nuggets and one sauce was 4.99

The meal was 6.99

4 out of the 5 nuggets were nicely sized. One for me was rather small.

The Bell Sauce was rather good here. Fully loaded with flavor. I am going to assume the other two sauce flavors are really good as well.

The Nuggets here were tasty though.

While I would give the nuggets and sauce I had a big thumbs up I have to give the price a big thumbs down. 2 bucks less for both the items I listed above would have made me happy. You are not getting enough chicken for the price.

I'll agree with you on this one. I got the nuggets and they were the size of marbles. Little ones. Not getting them again.

Here's what I am convinced is happening. They introduce a new item and charge way more than it costs to make it (or what it's worth) and I think they figure if they make a fuss about it, everyone tries it - once. But just that alone makes a profit on the item, even though they know no one is going to get that item again. So when they think they've sold all they're going to, they then take the item off the menu because, why carry a loss leader? But they've got their money! I'm seeing that with a lot of fast food places, but especially with Taco Bell.

Just to add, I notice they quit selling the tostadas already. I told the guy it was OK since they weren't putting cheese on them anyway. I mean, when you can count the single shreds of cheese on their tostadas and they want an arm and a leg for them, forget it.

I love Taco Bell and was excited to see the bean burritos with green sauce, and their tostadas return. However, it was not worth the price. How is their burrito with green sauce worth more than a regular burrito with the other sauce? Or a tostada worth more than a regular taco. Granted, it was not a lot more - but still. It's a crunchy tortilla smeared with beans and topped with a bit of sauce, lettuce, and cheese.

Y'all have convinced me to skip the chicken on this go-around until the price point matches the product.

I got Taco Bell for the first time in MANY months just the other day and got the 'green' burrito. I thought that was pretty darn good. But it tasted really sweet at the end (meaning at the bottom of the burrito once it was almost gone) and I'm wondering where that sweet taste was coming from.

Is that the green sauce and it was all just plopped into the bottom of the burrito?

Regarding the chicken nuggets, it's not something I would even consider getting from Taco Bell.

I've found the Taco Bell sauce in our grocery store...not sure if they had the green one...just saying...if you have the makings, you can make them your way right in the comfort of your own home!

I used to make homemade Crunchwraps. Haven't done that in some time.

I live in a country where we don’t have Taco Bell, so I can’t comment on the quality of the nuggets product.
But 1 USD per nugget is very expensive. Seems like “fast food” in today’s market also equals high prices. It’s certainly not a cheap option in Australia anymore, but we are still hearing about impoverished families who see junk food as the only option.

When soda pops and junk food are cheaper than the healthy stuff.... and they've never learned how to make yummy foods that nourish as most are too tired to cook coming home from work ... are we surprised?

Not surprised at all, but when a family feed from McDonalds approaches the same cost as a mid-level restaurant would, the choice doesn’t inspire much.

That's for sure. I rarely eat fast food anymore. But if I do get a hankering, I always order off the value menu, avoiding the more expensive stuff.

I also agree with that Jade. I was just referring to soda's and potato chips, etc.
I could not afford nor would certainly not even try to feed my 4 kids at McDonald's. We weren't impoverished but still on a strictly tight budget.

Yeah, what really upsets me is seeing two versions of a certain food in the store that are almost the same, made by the same company, using the same recipe, except one of them is lower in fat and/or calories or sodium than the other, yet the 'healthier' version is a dollar or two more than the standard version.

And people wonder why we choose the junkier foods?

However, speaking of potato chips, my favorite chips (the Lay's Lightly Salted) are $6 a bag! I always buy the "party size" because they last me a while, since I only allow myself to indulge in my yummy chips on Sunday's while I'm holed up in my room watching movies :whistling

But still... snack foods are major expensive right now.

Never thought I'd see the day but got Lay's Lightly Salted cheaper than the States. Even with the exchange!
Got 2 family size bags for $6.00. Had to buy 2 or they were .75cents more. Still a deal though.
Of course, once open the bag is gone by the time I go to bed....

Sometimes it's not even that they don't know how to make good food at home. Sometimes they live in a food dessert, where they can hardly find any food that isn't already super processed or from a fast food outlet, which is cheaper than their other option of a regular resto.

That’s very true also.
In the dark ages when I went to school, we had a compulsory class for the first few years that was called Home Economics.
Three semesters: cooking, sewing and monetary. It was comprehensive and the goal was to teach kids the basics they needed in life. We learned how to bake and cook fairly simple meals. We learned how to patch up our clothes and make easy dresses (for the girls), t-shirts and socks etc. Monetary was things like opening a bank account, applying for a driver’s license, doing your taxes and filling out everyday paperwork.
I have always believed that they should bring this teaching back into the education system. More so now than ever - these things were once taught at home by parents, but it’s becoming increasingly rare now.

We had Home Economics for the girls, mostly cooking. Don't remember if there was sewing. Nothing monetary. Boys had Shop, woodworking and mechanics. Then years later on you could take typing and shorthand. But then I think Home Ecs disappeared.
