i've made this recipe and it's wonderful..
the one thing not included in the recipe but which i added is grounded fennel seeds or some spice mix that have a lot of grounded fennel seeds..
anyhow i added 1.5 tea spoons of grounded fennel and it was a blast.. i cut the recipe in half tho.. so if you make all of the recipe you will need 3 tea spoons..

the other changes i've made besides cutting the recipe in half and adding this magic spice is making it with..
  • double the amount of button mushrooms
  • double the amount of chicken breast
  • double the amount of turmeric
  • double the amount of garlic
and more.
don't forget to only add 0.5 l boiling water if you make half recipe.....

it's in hebrew but you can automatically translate if you wish..

people need to use grounded fennel seeds.. either with pasta or potatoes.. or other options..

if you add a lot of it you will need more oil because it will make it lumpy or something.. i don't know how to describe it when you add too much..

It really sounds quite tasty!
You halved the recipe but doubled the garlic, mushrooms and chicken?
but don't think I would double the turmeric.
I would still add the full litre of water.
I'm thinking, Seeing to Believe that the only thing you halved was the onion and the water!

Edit: how much pasta did you use? The water and pasta ratio would be important.

I think the original recipe calls for 1/2 k which is approx. 1 lb.
He said he halved the recipe which would then be 1/2 lb.
Then said he doubled the chicken - which, to me, would bring it back up to the 1 lb. (or 1/2 k or 16 oz or 500 gr), no?

Why don't you just write out the amounts that you used and write the instructions in your words. If you write the instructions in your words, you are not violating the copyright. If you do, it would be polite to mention where you got the recipe that you modified. It's really hard to follow along with your double this and half that.

let me try later..
it will take some time..

I find that caramelized onions and cooked mushrooms as well as the dredged cooked cubed chicken, then boiled for 10 minutes with pasta, something that I just wouldn't ever do, but I am happy for you and glad you really liked it because that all that really matters.

Also you said you halved the recipe which would be 4 oz of chicken and then said you used 18oz and who knows what a basket of mushrooms is and you doubled that, so we have no idea what you did, but again glad you enjoyed it.

there is something in these simple foods that makes them so much better than so many other "better" foods..

I'm sure it's a language thing but this last statement doesn't really make much sense to me. I think what most people would really be interested in is a recipe of what you actually used the amounts and how you cooked it.

I went on a numeric/black pepper/apple cider vinegar kick a couple of years ago. I ended up getting headaches, which after a bit of research I discovered that high doses of turmeric can cause them. And..my wife said it gave me bad BO.

There is also a form of Turmeric taken as a herbal supplement for aches and pain. Both varieties, if taken in large enough quantities, can cause bleeding such as nose bleeds and maybe more.
Some of the cheaper OTC Turmeric is largely the spice and not the refined version. Buyer beware.

I take a curcumin with piperine supplement. It helps with my arthritis. Curcumin is the active medicinal ingredient in turmeric. It's more bioavaiable with piperine which usually comes from black pepper.

No I don't understand. You said these simple foods are so much better that the foods that are considered better.

We all here cook with simple ingredients every day, that's what we do.

What are these better foods that are not as good as your better foods?

Like I said it's probably a language thing.
