This sweet story from the Los Angeles Times is well worth reading. It concerns the heartbreak felt by an elderly Korean couple over the loss of their cow, which had served them on their small farm for 40 years. Their story has been made into a movie called The Sound of the Cow's Bell.

A very nice story Scotch and I can see why it would make a good movie, especially in Asia, but my only hesitation is that cows do not live to be 40 years old. As much as us "westerners" like to think we know, we have very little idea about their acceptable quality of life. Here we have two people totally satisfied with their lives yet we look in awe at what they have, believing that they have nothing.
