The State Fair of Texas opens tomorrow...

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.

Fairs are always a good time really. Last get together I went to was an indigenous POW WOW about 3 years ago that was awesome. Great foods and I picked up a wrist ban that I still wear. The dancing was the focus and it didn't disappoint.

I think my little farm town is having their annual Wine Fest this weekend.
More power to 'em. I went to more Wine Fests when I didn't live here

The city of Grapevine, Texas just had their annual GrapeFest last weekend.

Part of that weekend is Italian Carfest. Texas Driver Magazine used to sponsor that, and help round up some rare cars for it.

If I didn’t have other plans I’d fly down and go with you! I imagine the Texas State Fair is a hoot!

We don’t really do fairs here, sigh…

Eat a corndog for me!

Curiosity had me look up the Texas State Fair. Wish I was going! Had a look at some of the food and there are some interesting things on offer - but this took my fancy!

I am so enthused about the Texas State Fair I have just suggested to my friend in Tucson that we meet up next year! (One of the things that I have always wanted to do is see a live rodeo) Unfortunately she is not so interested in such things - however, it is a relatively short hop on the plane for her, so you never know!

My ex-wife and I went every year, and she had to have a Fletcher's corny dog with mustard. It was an absolute tradition, and I had one with her. I liked it, but was not passionate about it.
