So stinkin' excited!
I haven't had Church's chicken since I was probably in my late teen years, back in Hawaii ... but then they left!
We just got one here in Cowboyville Arizona and they 've just opened.
Normally, I would wait about 2-3 months for a new place to shake it out, but I thought, what's so hard with fried chicken?
DH & I split a single biscuit, just so that he could try it ... he's never had Church's ... "Heh Mikey, he likes it!"
I made my own Coleslaw and Sweet Corn Bread to go with ... it's not supper time yet, so ... the smell is driving me wild!

What'cha got goin' on?

Church's is a big deal in Houston. There's not a single location in Frisco, and we have over 450 restaurants in town. We have Popeye's and KFC, plus those trending chicken tenders places for all the families with kiddies who live off of chicken tenders/nuggest. The newest chicken joints are Korean Fried Chicken (the new KFC).

Ya know @caseydog I'm not a fan of KFC nor Popeye's any longer.
They use to be good, but not so much any more.
My SIL gave me copycat recipe for the old style KFC coleslaw and then I make my homemade Sweet Corn Bread, AH YUM!!!!
For fried chicken at home, I make Japanese-style fried chicken, Kara'age, OISHII!!! Some quick cucmber kim chee freshly steamed white rice and I'm good...
We also just got a Raisin' Cane, which we've never had before, but for sure I'm going to let them shake it out ... so many folks have been complaining around these parts about them ...

My son-in-law is a regional quality manager for Raising Cane's. His title says "regional" but he covers a big region... everywhere from Minnesota to Kansas City to Dallas. He loves his job because he gets to play undercover boss and travel from store to store checking up on employees.

They must be popular because every time I drive past one around here, there's a long line at the drive-thru.

Believe it or not, I've never eaten at one either.

Raisin' Cane's is just chicken tenders. Tried them once. Place was full of moms and kids. The food was kid food, IMO.

I want to try the Korean Fried Chicken chain in town, Bonchon. No kimchi... I hate kimchi.

@Steve Kroll send your son-in-law over here to put these cowboys on the right path ... ours is placed right in between Popeyes, Cracker Barrel, and Chic-Fil-A ... tough act!

I don't step foot in Chic-fil-a, and I will never wait an hour in a drive through for a tiny piece of greasy fried chicken on a bun with pickles... and pay $6.50 for it. Add completely unseasoned cardboard waffle fries and a coke, and it's $11.65. No Thanks!

I had more oomph today, but I still made an easy supper. I tried something new. I don't think I have ever had tempeh before. I took some out of the freezer and cut up and broke up some. I didn't want it all to be angular cubes. I stir fried that with onions, mushrooms, various frozen veg, and some vindaloo curry paste. I added mustard greens at the end. I forgot to cook some rice, so I just made a bit more. That was quite good. I think that tempeh is a bit odd, but has potential. Dessert was a tangerine and a bit later, some shortbread cookies with milk. I had two bowlfuls of supper.
