I've run into that issue with several products in the last couple of years and it really aggravates me. Companies are changing recipes and messing up perfectly good products by trying to 'improve' them. Plus I think a big part of the problem is changing ingredients to save money (while still charging us the same amount, or more) and it's taking good things and turning them into crap.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't know what the specifics are to packaging and changing recipes within, but I'm under the impression that (at least here(?)) they have to say "New recipe!" on the package, no?

You would think. But I've noticed a lot of stuff that just doesn't taste the same anymore and it says nothing about a new recipe. Probably because they don't want us to know?

Hard to say what their logic is these days. But some products have changed. It can't be just my taste buds.

My friend owned a fine finished carpentry shop.
He took his family on vacation and asked me to inspect and accept if OK some expensive speciality wood deliveries while he was away.

First few deliveries of wood were OK, later that day the next deliveries only the top pieces of wood were good, the rest very poor quality.

Same when the strawberry sales peddlers knock on the door. Strawberries on top the container OK, the rest substandard.

Maybe these food suppliers do the same shenanigans to Trader Joes. TJs buyers sample carefully prepared example samples, then the supplier gets the sale and pulls money out of the process and sends garbage that just looks the part.

TJ's has a really lousy customer response system. If you do manage to get their attention, ya get dismissed and flushed with yesterdays lunch.

We tried the TJ's Spaghetti and meat sauce and it was OK. Just something to have on hand in the garage chest freezer on that day ya want a quick lunch, but not bad.

I may have mentioned TJ fantastic Enchilada sauce is now nothing like it used to be. Not even near the former taste and quality.
Like Cracker Barrel, the quality of the product is suffering.

It is indeed. We used to like Bob Evans, but the food quality has gone so downhill that I haven't been there in over a year. It's gotten more expensive as well.

As for Cracker Barrel, the last two times I ate there, the food just wasn't good. I haven't been back.

Tried this one for lunch today
Don't, just don't! It's horrid!
I took one bite, spat it out and tossed the entire bag and the portion that I had wasted my time making. I've eaten Cheung Fun many, many times before, this wasn't anywhere close to where it should be.

See, now that's something I would love and got excited when I saw the picture on the package. But then I read your comments and was like "Awwwwwwwwwwww..."

Instant deflation :ROFLMAO:

@Linda0818 I felt the same way. When I first saw, I was so excited to try them. What a disappointment!

@dragnlaw the instructions are, pan fry both sides until golden brown, add 4-5 tablespoons of water & cover, cook for an additional 4-5 minutes.

One side of the dumpling was nice and the other rock hard. The filling was very odd. The pieces of shrimp were fine it was the other bits - very mushy and poor flavor.

About a year ago I told myself to start trying some of these frozen meals and snacks. After wasting my money on expensive frozen meals and snacks where not one single one did not taste disgusting - I stopped.
The only prepared meal I will fork out for is the Mac n Cheese that I can't remember the name of. But I have posted about it.
found it! Main St. Bistro

Umm, no, forgot the title of the Thread. I was just talking about frozen snacks, sides and meals. We don't have Trader Joe's here. I don't know if that Mac 'n Cheese is available in that store or not. It is an American product though so I imagine it is available somewhere near you.
