Paul McCartney had many number one hits as part of The Beatles which accounts for the quartet. "Pipes of Peace" fits for the solo category, "Ebony and Ivory" with Stevie Wonder for the duo and "Wings Mull Of Kintyre"
as part of the band Wings which at the time of release of the song consisted of Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney and Denny Laine can be taken for a trio.
Finally, "Get Back" which had The Beatles collaborating with Billy Preston was a number one hit for a quintet.
