TRUTH !!
U.S. Grant and his wife, Julia, were allotted 80 acres as a wedding gift from her parents. In 1855, with help from friends, it took three days to build a four-room, two-story cabin. He named it Hardscrabble, but it was only occupied for four months. Julia's mother passed away and the couple moved in with her father. Many famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses were born and bred on Grant's Farm. Anheuser-Busch restored the cabin in 1977.
