I get newsletters from Harvard Medical School Healthbeat that tell me about reports that I can buy. One of the ones I have considered getting is "Everyday Balance Exercises". It seems to be aimed at older people. I'm not necessarily suggesting that you buy that report, but maybe his doctor can suggest some exercises that would help with balance. BTW, does he pick up his feet properly when he walks, or has he started shuffling, like some people do after a stroke or as they age?
Doesn't pick up his feet like he should. It's sort of a shuffle/normal walk combo.

Dragn', I don't like not having as good balance as I could have. I know it will just get worse, if I don't start doing something about it. I will definitely be doing some exercises to improve balance, probably including the ones in that link you shared.

Maybe he didn't trip on a step. When I was in Minnesota, I was filling my car with gas and when I went to pay, I walked out between the car and the pump the other way and went straight down on my side. Turns out there's a hump there - like a lid for an inground pipe that sticks out above the ground and I was so close to the pump I didn't see it. That sure did a number on me, though.

No, it was a step. We needed air for a tire and it was elevated on a half step.
