I made Old Fashioned Beef Barley & Vegetable soup. Perhaps a bit more broth will be needed when it is reheated tomorrow but it was most tasty tonight! Served with green grapes and buttered skillet corn pone without honey.

Beef Barley , yum...

I've pounded the chop, I've roasted some yam, cauliflower, bok choy and here I sit. My nose is sore, again. Was going to fry up a "Poor Man's Schnitzel" but I guess it will wait.
Actually might refreeze the meat as tomorrow and Thursday is my turn to pick-up the kids so won't feel like making supper then either. Oh well, another day.
Maybe I'll rip open a back of chips and eat them with the roast vegies? or not.

I know, but even my soup is too complicated for me right now.

and you know what I did today? Nothing! Sat at athe computer, looked up recipes, read recipes, cruised DC, played a game, did a jigsaw (dragon of course, that took almost 2 hours) I did finally prep and cook those vegies and prep the meat. But... here I am, sitting at the 'putor with a box of tissues... again.
oh yeah, I washed yesterdays dishes. so proud of myself!
supposed to go to the gym tomorrow... don't think I'll make it.

Homemade pizza with no knead, overnight dough. Pretty good dough, easily stretched, airy and bubbly. Philly cheesesteak pizza with thinly sliced and marinated sirloin, onions, mushrooms, some leftover red bell strips. Italian sausage and onion. Spinach and mushrooms with lightly smoked fresh mozzarella from the Italian deli.

I had "one of those days". It got late and I had only eaten peanutbutter on wholewheat toast. I was already planning a very easy supper of smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese and a salad. I got so hungry that skipped making the salad and just had the salmon and bagel. By then, my produce basket had arrived and had brought me wholewheat bagels. So, I had that for supper with a some sliced onion on top. I skipped the capers, since I am watching my sodium intake and capers have a lot of sodiumI didn't even notice that the bagel wasn't my usual. Well, it is the same company. I decided to try one of the wholewheat bagels, just toasted and buttered. Well, that wasn't as good as I expect a Montreal bagel from St-Viateur Bagel. I guess they still don't believe that you can make a good wholewheat bagel. It was still a decent bagel, but I know they could do better, if they just believed they could. I mean, the regular bagels they make are fabulous. But, I may keep buying the wholewheat ones. I generally only eat bagels with smoked fish and they didn't detract from my enjoyment of tonight's smoked salmon.
