One of the most widely celebrated days in Russsia and in the past in Soviet Union. Every family has lost somebody during the WW II. 65 years ago German army signed capiulation peppers. Both of my grand parents fought in the war, both thank G-d came home alive. I was lucky enough to know both of them. The memories of those who gave up their lives to defite evil, should never be forgoten.

happy v-day, charlie.

my dad was one of the americans who met up with your grandparents' comrades in germany. i was raised on stories of his time in england training and waiting for d-day, then on through normandy, belguim, the ardennes, across the rhine, and the race to berlin.

i respectfully pass on those stories to my son so they will not be forgotten. we watched "patton" last week together. i had to explain a lot, but it was fun.
