and as a favour to the person who gave you the eggs, see if he/she knows the egg supplier personally. He should know about it.
That being said, for people who have chickens - it is not unheard of for a chicken to lay an egg that is ... not... an egg, no matter what it contains.

A slow-cooking recipe. I made a beef stew, adding onions carrots, peas, celery and potatoes. Sprinkled some sweet paprika too, just to give it a more interesting taste.
